Notice: Central Credit Register

Under the Credit Reporting Act 2013, the Central Bank of Ireland has created the Central Credit Register to provide a full and accurate record of loans and loan applications.

From the end of June 2017, lenders will start sending data to the Central Credit Register. This will begin with credit cards, mortgages, overdrafts and personal loans. This data will be used to generate credit reports from 2018.

In early 2018, individuals can request a copy of their own personal credit report. Lenders can also request an individual’s credit report, if a loan is in arrears or if they are considering a loan application, or a change to terms of an existing loan.
