How do I request a statement?

The simplest way to obtain a statement on your Credit Union Plus Account is to download our New and Improved App from the App Store or Google Play Store and login online.  Statements can be downloaded instantly in the form of PDF documents.

Only in exceptional circumstances (i.e. for vulnerable or elderly members) will statements be issued by email.  If under these circumstances you cannot login to your online account via our App, to request a statement of your account please email statements@creditunionplus.ie

How do I join?

Joining Credit Union Plus couldn’t be easier. If you qualify for membership (you must live or work in the Navan, Ballivor, Clonmellon, Ballyjamesduff or Dunshaughlin areas) and wish to join the Credit Union, you should provide two forms of identification online or in branch. You will also be required to lodge €10.00 into your new account to activate membership. Three forms of identification are required in order to comply with the Criminal Justice Act 2010 relating to all financial institutions – The following proof of identity is required:

  • Photographic Proof of identity (a passport or driving licence)
  • Household bill/Bank Statement as proof of address (must be within the last 6 months)

If you live outside of any of our branch towns but are employed in one of the towns, you will still qualify for membership. You will need to provide evidence of your employment (e.g. letter from employer-confirming address of employment), in addition to the above items. Our staff would be happy to advise you of all services available to you as a member of Credit Union Plus. Once you are a member, you should continue saving regularly – ‘even small amounts, which will both build up your own rainy day savings and add to the overall savings pool of Credit Union Plus.

How do I apply for a loan?

There are currently 2 options for making a loan application as follows:

  • Apply Online by logging in to your CU Online Account by clicking here or through your CU Mobile App.
  • Call our loans team on 046 90 21395 (option 1) to arrange a phone appointment at a time that suits you.

Is my loan protected?

Yes, with Credit Union Plus the loan balances of all eligible members are automatically covered (subject to certain limits) at no extra cost to the member.

Please note that a Pre-existing Condition limitation applies to the insurance which means that cover is not provided if a member were to die from a pre-existing medical condition, within 6 months of taking out a loan. It is vitally important that members advise staff of any medical condition when applying for a loan. Members will be asked to sign a declaration confirming that they are/are not in good health and are/are not fit to follow their normal occupation.

Loan Protection Insurance applies up to a members 80th birthday. In the case of joint accounts, both members are eligible for cover on the account. Other terms and conditions may apply.

How much can I borrow?

Members can borrow up to €100,000 as an unsecured personal loan.

When can I borrow?

Members can apply for a Loan on the day their account is made active.  All of our Loan applications are based on Repayment Capacity and not Share Balance.  If you can demonstrate affordability, you can borrow up to €100,000 on day one with just €10 in your shares.

Can I complete a nomination on my account?

Yes, Under Section 21 of the Credit Union Act 1997, a Credit Union member is entitled to nominate a person to be the beneficiary of their savings (up to a maximum of €23,000) following their death (Terms & Conditions Apply).
