⚠️ Urgent Scam Warning – Fraudulent Text Messages and Phone Calls in Circulation ⚠️
We are urging all members to remain vigilant following reports of two scams currently targeting Credit Union Plus members. These scams are being carried out by text message and by phone call, with fraudsters attempting to obtain personal and financial information.
Please take a moment to read the details below and protect yourself and your finances.
📱 Scam 1: Fraudulent Text Message from 51100
Some members have reported receiving a text message from the number 51100, claiming to be from Credit Union Plus.
The message states that a new payee has been created on your online account and instructs you to call an 01 Dublin phone number if this was not you.
This text message is not from Credit Union Plus.
It is a scam designed to create panic and encourage you to call the number provided. If you do, fraudsters will attempt to extract your personal and financial information.
Please remember:
- All genuine text messages from Credit Union Plus will come from the sender ID CUPLUS (in capital letters).
- We will never ask you to call an 01 Dublin number to verify activity on your account.
- Our only official phone number is 046 90 21395, which is listed on our website.
If you receive this text, do not respond and do not call the number provided.
📞 Scam 2: Fraudulent Phone Calls from 01 Dublin Numbers
We have also been made aware of members receiving phone calls from an 01 Dublin number, where the caller claims to be from Credit Union Plus.
The caller may say there is potential fraud on your account and ask for personal details such as:
- Date of birth
- Email address
- Phone number
- Confirmation of a one-time passcode
These calls are not from Credit Union Plus.
These fraudsters are attempting to gather enough information to access your funds.
Please remember:
- Credit Union Plus will never call you from an 01 Dublin number.
- Credit Union Plus will never ask you to confirm a one-time passcode over the phone.
If you receive a suspicious call:
- Hang up immediately.
- Do not provide any information.
- Contact us directly on 046 90 21395 using the number listed on our official website.

- Never share one-time passcodes with anyone.
- Always independently verify by contacting us directly using our official number.
