Make Your Money Matter

What is a Credit Union?

Credit Unions are not-for-profit cooperatives that exist solely to provide financial services to their members. They offer more than just credit, with many of the services you normally expect from a bank. Credit Union Plus has been serving members for over 50 years.

How are they Different from Banks?

Members, not shareholders, own Credit Unions. That means all the profit that Credit Unions do bring in goes right back to members—in the form of dividends, new services and lowered interest rates.

Last year alone, Credit Union Plus distributed over €2 million back to members.

What does it mean for my Community?

Credit Unions are built around providing low-interest loans for their local communities—so that money can go to work closer to home.

In the last 20 years Credit Union Plus has lent over €600 million to the local community.

What’s this I hear about Lower Rates?

Credit Unions offer highly competitive interest rates, which are on average lower than banks. Check out our loan calculator to see just how affordable a loan with Credit Union Plus can be with our Loan Calculator .

That all sounds great, but is my money safe?

Yes. Member deposits are insured up to €100,000 per member by the Deposit Guarantee Scheme.
